The pathways around the grounds give you the chance to enjoy this lovely countryside including breathtaking views of the nearby Monte da Rocha Lake. Vale da Cegonha is the perfect place to relax and unwind, far from the stresses and strains of modern day life.
But this peaceful tranquillity does not mean isolation as the town of Ourique is only 5km away where you will find supermarkets, shops, banks and restaurants etc.

“We visited Vale da Cegonha, one of us in a wheelchair and one fully mobile and found the accommodation very well designed so that we could be independent. Penny and Greg were very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. All areas of the property are accessible including the patio and pool area. Penny and Greg pay great attention to detail and ensured that furniture was the right height and were able to provide equipment for us.”

I honestly couldn't fault your hospitality and the thinking you had put into the accommodation from an access point of view - certainly for the majority of Independent Spinal Injured visitors I think you have it pretty well covered, difficult for me to comment on other groups. I think the balance you have struck between being a comfortable villa for a holiday but with the thought about requirement for a wheelchair user is superb and I would have no hesitation in recommending you to able bodied or disabled friends alike. An added benefit having a budding engineer on site to fix anything the cobbled streets of Lisbon or other surrounding times may throw at a wheelchair - Greg your bic washer is holding up - I have since had new tyres. You made everything easy great information on service and accommodating requests including car hire so Thank you

"Penny & Greg made us feel very welcome. Super, fully self-contained accommodation at Vale da Cegonha. A stunning countryside location with beautiful wildflowers and wildlife, but not too far from fabulous restaurants at very reasonable prices. If you want peace and relaxation, this is the place for you."

"Oasis" Unexpected
"The Valley of the Stork is an unexpected oasis of tranquility and well-being in rural Alentejo, excellent for those who need to secede from the city routine, the dictatorship of the clock and links to cyber (increasingly) dominated in time and energies.
New Houses, clean and well equipped, attentive hosts and extremely friendly, refreshing pool, grill to prepare meat succulent pig's created in the region, shade to read, sleep or play, starry sky at night (whose existence the city lights make us forget) are reasons more than enough to build camps and change your life for a few days.
The location (close to IC1, midway between Évora and Faro) allows you to serve as the basis for an exploration of the Alentejo region.
I recommend (and I repeat)

In English: Just this words are enough, Very good accomodation for a very low price! recomend to everyone!

"It is often difficult für handicapped people to find an accomodation which offer calm and relaxation during their holidays. Penny and Greg have built one where also disabled can lean back and enjoy a few marvellous days in Portugal. The house is absolutely wheelchair accessible (there are no thresholds) and offers very much space to move in a wheelchair. Especially the bathroom and the perfectly equipped kitchen have to be emphasized. Last but not least it is certainly the kindness and the heartiness of Penny and Greg (who will always find a solution for every problem which may occur during your holiday, I am sure) which make me judge Casa Aguia as excellent and one of the best accomodation I ever visited before. Verified Homeowner
Why is Lupain Holiday Rentals the only holiday rental company to verify the ownership of holiday accommodation? Research has shown that not all advertisers are genuine. There have been cases where people have booked holiday accommodation only to find out it does not exist.
This sort of ‘scam’ is hard to comprehend but these days fraudsters are coming up with ever more imaginative ways of obtaining money by deception from innocent people like you. We do not want holidaymakers who book with us to fall victim to this type of scheme. Money is mostly hard earned we know, so taking a holiday is usually a major expense. In addition, we do not want you to remember us for a shattered dream.
Therefore, in order to protect you we have introduced our Owner Verification Scheme. We ask all holiday home advertisers to submit proof that they own the property they are advertising. Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.
If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
We take this Owner Verification Scheme very seriously for your protection. If you have any doubts about the validity of an advert or misrepresentation please contact us with your concerns.
Please note, Lupain Holiday Rentals does not verify the advertisement content placed on this website by property owners, nor do we offer any guarantee as to the correctness of the advertising information placed on this website by third parties.
