The house is 50 metres from the Ocean front between fields of banana trees. Its loved for many things including: *spectacular Ocean and mountain views *peace *privacy and *closeness to some of the most popular mountain and levada walks in Madeira.
Accommodation Summary : The house has 2 double bedrooms on the second floor which open onto a private sun terrace with a sunbed & deck chairs and ocean and mountain views.
On the top (third) floor of the house the single bedroom with mountain views is next to a second lounge area with ocean views. The top floor lounge opens onto a second sun terrace with a barbecue and both mountain & ocean views.
On the ground floor is the spacious open plan lounge and dining area next to the kitchen and bathroom with a shower enclosure.

On suitability for elderly or infirm please contact the property manager. The house is up a slight gradient from the Ocean front with several normal sized steps.
The Prices above are for 3 people sharing the accommodation. The house accommodates 5 people. There is a supplement of €6, per person, per night for the 4th and 5th Person sharing the accommodation.
Deposit: a deposit of 30% of the rental rate must be made as soon as possible to secure a booking and the remainder must be paid 6 weeks before check-in at the accommodation.
Bookings made within less than 6 weeks of check-in: when a booking is made within less than 6 weeks of check-in, the complete payment is required and it is non-refundable.
Communication of cancellation: if clients have to cancel, communication must be in writing as soon as possible

Hire a car or not & Internet access The house has Internet access 24/7
We recommend a hire car and to collect when you arrive at the airport. But, some of our clients do not want a hire-car for the whole holiday or to drive. One solution is we can pick 3 people up at the airport and return clients to the airport for 30 euros each journey. Also, we can offer lifts to some of the attractions including white sand beaches at Calheta and other places such as the start of walks for a reasonable fee per kilometre.

We had a great stay on Madeira. The house is an ideal base for exploring south and west of Madeira if you have a car. There is enough space to accomodate the whole family, nice terrace with grill to watch sun set and the whole property is for you only. There is good swiming after exploring levadas just across the street (if you are good swimmer) and next to small bar to relax. Owners are easy going friendly people. We like it so much! In this house the family Abbiati, we had wonderful 14 days holiday. The house is very clean and well maintained. The view of the sea is very beautiful. The area is very quiet. You can relax very well. There are also several small bars and a restaurant (Beia). There you can enjoy very good food. Abbiatis were very nice and helped us at all times with lots of information about the island. Porto Moniz, Sao Vincente and many small places like near Paul de Mar were also very pretty. The house is highly recommended. The island is full of beautiful trees, plants and fruit. Hiking can be very nice to the Levadas

This was the first time that we had booked a holiday property directly with the owners, but from the start it was a very positive experience.
Sunny House West is spotlessly clean, well-equipped and well-maintained - a ‘home from home’. The accommodation and the location more than matched the description on the website and exceeded our expectations. Set within a banana plantation, Sunny House West is ideally suited for a peaceful, relaxing holiday, with views of the ocean to the front and of the mountains to the side and back. How wonderful it was to sit on the balcony and watch the sun set!
Paul do Mar is a lovely place. It is quiet but there are plenty of places to enjoy a drink or a meal, all within easy walking distance. There is also plenty to do in the area. It’s well placed for exploring the south west coast of Madeira. Within ten minutes we were able to drive to the beach at Calheta, the Calheta to Ponta do Praga levada, or the mountains. Funchal and Monte are only an hour’s drive away.
Paul and Iva could not have been more friendly and welcoming. They clearly take customer care very seriously and are passionate about Sunny House West and Madeira – and why wouldn’t they be! Even before we arrived they sent information about the island and things to do. The directions from the airport were easy to follow. When we arrived they took the time to show us where everything was and how to work things like the cooker and TV. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
A week wasn’t long enough at Sunny House West – we will be back!
We would certainly recommend Sunny House West to family and friends.

Sunnyhouse West war der perfekte Standort für unseren Aufenthalt auf Madeira. Das Haus ist komplett und reichlich ausgestattet ausgestattet, absolut sauber und top in Ordnung. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.Die Lage absolut ruhig und trotzdem sind von dort alle Punkte der Insel schnell zu erreichen. Unvergesslich die Abende auf der Dachterasse mit Atlantikblick und den Rufen der Cagarros. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen!!
Best place to stay on Madeira. Quiet but even near to all interesting places on the island. The house is situated in a little banana garden, very clean and there was all we needed. Great momments...sitting on the terrace and watching the sunsets and listening the sounds of hte Cagarros flying above us.The owner are very friendly and helpfull and living near by.
Go there and have good holidays!

Embora não tenhamos estado muito tempo no Paul do Mar durante o dia, apercebemo-nos dia após dia que este era sem dúvida um local previlegiado. Quando chegávamos de outras partes da ilha, onde a metereologia não era a mais agradável, encontrávamos um Paul do Mar sereno, de calor agradável e com uma ligeira agitação pescatória de fim de tarde.
Quanto à casa... bom, a casa tem condições realmente muito boas! Tudo na casa esteve perfeito. Que começou pelos responsáveis da habitação Iva e Paul, que revelaram uma amabilidade e disponibilidade extremas que nos deixaram completamente à-vontade para qualquer eventualidade.
Muito obrigado e espero voltar um destes verões

Nice clean house though a bit damp at times probably due to the proximity to the sea. The living room on the ground floor is a bit dark since its only "window" is the front door. All requirements were met. The location within a small banana plantation was sort-of extra private and the sound of the waves soothing. Although a little dog from the neighbourhood would start barking - sometimes also at night, which was quite annoying. The service was excellent and should there be a problem, I reckon it to be solved quite quickly, since the owners live nearby.
Paúl do Mar is a good starting point for hikes if you have a car or you want to start uphill around 500 metres. There are very nice seafood restaurants around (try Lago Mar down the road in Paúl do Mar or Precipicio at the road to Fajã da Ovelha above Paúl do Mar).
There was nothing except for the doggie (only about after some days), I'd dislike there, so I can definitively recommend staying there - you'd probably have some sort of annoying noise everywhere.

We spent two fantastic weeks at Sunny House. The house is beautiful and has peaceful surroundings. It was also very clean and had everything we needed during our stay. We loved sitting on the terrace watching the sunset and listening to the waves. Paul do Mar is a real Madeiran village with nice people. It's advantange is beeing away from the tourist areas, yet it has enough services, e.g. a mini-market and a couple of bars. The dinner we ate at Paul do Mar Hotel was tasty and romantic with an outdoor table and ocean view.
We explored the beautiful surroundings by car and hiking. Afterwards the Calheta beach, only 10 minutes drive away, was very welcoming.
The owners, Iva and Paul, are very friendly and service-minded. We would really recommend Sunny House for every nature lover.
