Apartment Marilena sits amongst local Cretan homes & gardens and is a mere 5 minute stroll to the nearest shop, tavernas and seafront.
It has a large well furnished private terrace with spectacular mountain, village and countryside vistas.
The Apartment is lovingly decorated and equipped to a high standard by its Scots owners (who live above in Villa Limani) and provides opportunities for relaxing, cooking (why cook when we have 10+ excellent tavernas between 5 and 10 minutes stroll away?) and entertainment (BBQ, DVD/TV, CD/Radio Clock). All linen and towels are provided.

Accommodation Summary : The Apartment has open-plan living, eating and cooking areas. The kitchen is fully equipped to allow breakfast, light lunch and, for the 'aspiring chef' even an evening meal or two! BUT WAIT! you are on holiday and you should just stroll down to the seafront where you are spoilt for choice with 10+ excellent tavernas providing freshly caught fish (local/daily), local/Cretan specialities and International cuisine of a hight strandard. The locals are ultra-friendly and generous to a fault, so expect a 'free' Raki (local firewater) with some fruit or cake at the end of your meal.

Beaches Milatos Beach has a small man-made beach at its 'working' harbour and extensive pebble beaches to the east and west of the small village square.
Tavernas Locally there are 10+ excellent tavernas of varying size but all of good quality. Local owners are ultra friendly and take pride in providing excellent food covering local/traditional 'meze' (small plates of fish, meat or vegetables), fresh fish (caught daily), Cretan specialities and International cuisine.
Try the 'keftedes' - meatballs, 'tyrokeftedes' - cheeseballs, Stifado (meat/onion stew), lamb from the oven and saganaki (fried cheese).
Out and About Milatos Beach is a very laid back kind of place and lends itself to doing little more than strolling around the area, relaxing and eating and drinking in the sun (or evening).
If you want to (and you should) travel further afield Crete has a multitude of archeological, historical and geographical wonders to suit ever taste. You can visit the capital Heraklion (bustling & busy), Agios Nikalaos (touristy but lovely) or Neapolis (working town but quaint. There are also wonderful adventures in to the various mountain ranges with spectacular scenery and villages that time has forgotten. You must visit Knossos (Minoan Palace), Chania (Venetian Town), Vai(palm beach) and any one of a thousand other wonders!

We spent a wonderful three week holiday in Milatos Beach.Marilyn and Davy couldn't have more welcoming the apartment is great very well equipped and they go out of their way to help make your holiday a memorable one - a home from home.The locals were very friendly and there were lovely tavernas to eat out in. We hired a car locally and Davy was only to pleased to help us plan our trips into the local countryside . The Plateau of Lassithi was something else . We hope one day in the future to return .

A First class holiday with friendly hospitality second to none from Marilyn & Davy. The apartment is attractive and comfortable both inside and in the outside seating area. Holiday was made even more enjoyable with the opportunity to meet with the friendly Cretan people both socially and in their homes.
I would certainly love to return, preferably in a cooler month!

Davy and Marilyn really made us welcome during our stay.
They worked hard at being there for us if we needed any advise and at the same time leaving us alone. The accomodation was just right for us and located in a pretty area with a coastal walk only minutes away...
There are a choice of restaraunts in the evening all of which did marvelous meals..To sum up the holiday was super and great value for money, We recommend that you go there you wont be dissapointed...

What a fabulous experience! Davy & Marilyn are incredible hosts who are very willing to share their wealth of knowledge and love for the island with anyone asking. They were very helpful in arranging a rental car and giving directions on finding our way to various sites. (Not to mention that Davy is an amazing cook!) The apartment is perfect for 2 people and an easy stroll to shops and cafes. The people of the village are very warm and friendly. We loved it so much that we are are already planning a return trip!

From the minute we arrived till the day we left we were truly looked after. Property is lovely and the owners, Davy and Marilyn were not only the friendliest people you could ever meet, but they live in the property above the apartment and were on hand when required. They provided us with superb knowledge and nothing was too much bother. Milatos is perfect and the choice of Tavernas was phenomenal. The property has it's own private entrance and terrace and we felt totally relaxed and welcomed by everyone.

Highly Recommended - Davy & Marily excellent hosts providing plenty of local knowledge during our stay. They even collected/returned us to the airport themselves. Accomodation well equiped , comfortable and within walking distance of beach, shops and restaurant. Car hire is an advantage to see more of island as Milatos is a little off the beaten track. Stayed September 2010.

THE REAL CRETE...Our holiday was just what we wanted from Crete - Great hosts in Davy & Marilyn who were available when needed and some really nice touches upon our arrival.

It's a typical Greek style Property in Milatos Beach,a short distance from the sea,well eqipped, ideal for two, there is a good selection of Tavernas, ideal for relaxing or going for walks,if you want to get around hire a car.if you need any advice speak to Davy & Marilyn they know the area very well, and will make you very wellcome.
