Notes on Amenities :
Generally very well equipped, bright and airy, well maintained & sympathetically furnished with care & attention to make Villa Catalina feel comfortable. There are three freestanding fans for your use in addition to the bedroom ceiling fans. It is fully double glazed, with thermostatic electric oil wall radiators for winter use. There are 2 steps up to the front security door and 4 steps down to the swimming pool; otherwise it is suitable for the elderly or disabled.
The private garden has a lemon and almond tree, bushes, cacti, palms, agaves & shrubs in a typical Spanish setting with a wall surrounding the property (balustrades are along one side) and secure gates. Your children can play safely in various areas of the gardens and can use the buckets and spades. A gardener comes once or twice (in the summer) a month to maintain the gardens. Outside lights complete the ambience.
Towels are provided. A cot and high chair can be hired.
Beaches and Calpe The nearest beaches to Villa Catalina are about 5 minutes drive into Calpe with its fishing port, fish restaurants, marina and long promenades. There are long white sandy beaches with lots of restaurants, bars and children's play areas. Here you can find the famous spectacular Calpe Rock rising 332m high which dramatically divides the two beaches. There are many other bars and restaurants in Calpe and nearby offering varied top quality local and international cuisine that cater for your every taste. Calpe old town has narrow streets, steps and is very picturesque with its museums, colourful paintings on the walls, traditional tapas bars and quaint park areas. There are well preserved Roman & Moorish remains which are evidence of Calpes rich history. The salt lake on the edge of Calpe is home to flamingos and numerous other aquatic birds. In Calpe you can enjoy all the hustle and bustle and a variety of activities that it has to offer whilst retaining the feel of a small Spanish town.
Things to see locally It is only 15-20 mins drive from the popular coastal resort of Moraira & only a further 10 mins drive to the beautiful Jalon Valley with its terraced citrus & almond groves & wonderful scenery, Oliva, Denia & Javea. Benidorm is 30 mins drive away offering more attractions such as discos, nightclubs, shows, bars, Aqualanda Water Park, Mundomar (a marine & exotic animal park) & the theme park of Terra Mitica.
There are also safari parks, kiddies fair, tennis, golf, go-kart racing, climbing, walking, various water sports, sailing, swimming, diving, boat hire, cycling & trips nearby for you to enjoy.
The local green countryside is dotted with beautiful individual white-washed villas. It all makes a pretty and relaxing setting for those of you wanting to unwind on a peaceful holiday away from the package tour crowds. This is a fantastic area with no shortage of things to do, or places to visit and catering for all your tastes.
Golf. The nearest golf course is about 15 minutes drive away.
How to reach the villa Alicante is the nearest airport and is less than an hours drive away; although there are also flights to Valencia which is about 30 min. more. There is a coach direct from Alicante airport or a coach from Alicante airport to Alicante City and a train or coach from here to Calpe.

After another excellent family holiday at Villa Catalina I can thoroughly recommend this property to anyone seeking a relaxing and peaceful holiday in an excellent location. From early morning to late evening the warm sun shines on the 3 levels of terrace where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the sun or in the shade as you prefer. The pool itself is perfect for cooling off if the sun gets too warm and the villa itself is delightfully decorated giving a cool, light and airy ambience if you feel like taking a break from the chore of getting a good tan!
Its a healthy walk in to town and the excellent beaches either side of the Rock if you feel like leaving the car behind and working off a few calories.
With 3 good sized bedrooms, ample storage space and two bathrooms its ideal for a family holiday and we wouldn't hesitate to return to this little piece of heaven.

We had a fantastic time, thank you very much. The children both loved having the pool to be able to use. And because of this my husband and I were able to enjoy a relax in the sun on the beds outside instead of having to rush off out to find adventure.
The kitchen was brilliant, everything you could possible think of. Beautiful and clean. All the facilities in fact were excellent.
The area was stunning. We definitely feel another trip here is a must, owing to the fact that we only recharged our batteries this holiday. An exploring holiday will be needed next time.
The owner information and communication were great.

Quiet, peaceful, relaxing break. Beautiful home with all mod. cons. Superb villa and pool in quiet residential area. Villa wonderful - clean, bright and modern. Pool and garden carefully maintained to highest standards by owners. Villa and pool are private and secluded.
Calpe has great beaches, lots of good places to eat. Superb place to stay for a great holiday - whether you want peace and quiet, or to go the short distance to the beaches and town.

It is very close to beach and shops (5 mins in car). Villa was fantastic, spotless, spacious and so well equipped with everything we needed. Views from villa are lovely and a fantastic pool. Security is of high standard also, with gates, walls, security blinds on windows and very secure front and rear doors. Open plan living, dining and kitchen area was great for our 2 year old running round, she loved the holiday and we had great peace of mind knowing the villa was so secure, clean and spacious. Highly recommended. We thought the villa was in a perfect location, very near the beach and shops. Thanks again for the use of your villa. Ireland
