The Local Area Woodbridge is a market town of considerable character on the west bank of the River Deben. The picturesque streets are lined with historic and interesting buildings. Many individual shops, boutiques and art galleries all draw in visitors along with the independent cinema, restaurants and traditional public houses which serve the local Adnams ale. There are notable places of interest nearby: Sutton Hoo, the Anglo Saxon burial ground and museum; Snape Maltings, the famous concert hall and complex associated with the composer Benjamin Britten; Thorpeness Mere and 'House in the Clouds' and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere.
Other coastal towns such as Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick and Felixstowe will make interesting excursions, all with lovely beaches. So much to do and so little time!
