Residenza La Geppa is a recently restored country house dating back to the 1600s - parts of it even earlier. Originally it was the country residence of the local land-owning family, the Travaglinis. For its time it was the height of luxury with its painted ceilings, frescos and wall decorations and now these have been restored to their original spleandour. However, we have gone away from only one bathroom (which is still preserved complete with the original hole in a wooden bench!) for the entire property and now there are 14 lovely bath or shower rooms

As a historic property dating back to at the 1600s it is not that accessible for disabled - there are little steps everywhere. On the plus side you get to stay in beautifully restored rooms with frescoes and painted ceilings, beams, etc. The amenities are definitely 21st century so you will live even better than the aritocratic owners in the 17th century!.
Geppa is a wonderful location in the countyside with fantastic views down the valnerina and yet is only 15 minutes from Spoleto, city of Art, Culture and nature, with all the facilities you need - supermarkets, shops, hospital, etc.

Eating in or out Umbria is a gastronomic delight with frsh local produce cooked in traditional ways. This is a truffle area so you can taste the black truffle in pasta sauces, etc. the area is also famed for it's salami, sausages, olive oil, wine, lentils, spelt and many other delicious foods. If you want to eat in then Andreina, the farmer's wife across the road, will cook delicious meals for you - meat roasted in her wood oven, mmmmm!It solves the probles of having designated drivers - the drink-driving laws in Italy are strict.
Transport You will need a car - there are 2 buses a day from Spoleto but they seem to leave there 5 minutes before the train gets in! If you really want to just get away from it all then we can collect you from the station in Spoleto and do your shopping for you.
