Est!Est! wine. The house is in an acre of garden which is fenced and gated, suitable for children, planted with olive, fruit, ornamental tree's. It has a 50 sq mtr south facing terrace, this comes off the living/dining/kitchen area through 3 french doors, ideal for alfresco dining. Lake Bolsena is only 15 mins away by car, all water sports readily available as well as horse riding and bicycle trails. Prices are for the property per week INCLUDING linen, house and beach towels and final cleaning.Electricity is included in summer months. During winter rentals a meter reading will be taken on arrival and departure to cover electric heating, costs on a purely usage basis. There is an open fire and wood burner, wood can be ordered at 50 euros sqmtre on request.Refundable £150 ecurity and breakages deposit required.
Sights of Interest There are 3 glorious lakes in the area and fewer tourists with the mediteranean and the Maremma National Park Coast to the west of Lake Bolsena, Vico and Bracciano stretching South to Rome itself.
Lake Bolsena is only 15 mins from the house (Europe's largest volcanic lake and reputed to be the cleanest). Lake Vico 40 mins and Lake Bracciano 60 mins. The area has several national parks, nature reserves and mountains. There are castles eg. the templar castle at Vulci (20mins) with its stunning gorge and bridge, masses of Etruscan tombs, from unmaned ones that you can explore yourself.
Information on Restaurants There are excellent restaurants in the area to meet every budget. Tuscania has some amazing food, it also has a cookery school. There are fresh fish resturants at the sea and lakes and local produce can be bought at Tuscania markets and all surrounding towns on various days.We have details and telephone numbers at the villa on some of our favorite restaurants. There is also a menu planner at the villa to help understanding the Italian menu.
Local Transport It is essentional to have a car for the villa as Tuscania is 3 km away. There are local buses from Tuscania. Rome is easily reached by direct trains from Tarquina into St Peter's (The Vatican) taking only 1 hour.Siena is a very pleasant 1-2 hrs drive away.
