The Granary provides comfortable accommodation from which to explore this exciting region.It is light and south facing with sunny gardens. Brehec Beach and Port can be reached by footpath direct from the house though walking boots are needed for the first 10 mins as the path is uneven and narrow. Thereafter it is a good path in deep deciduous forest from house. This takes around 35 mins even though it is only 2-3km.Charcuteries,boulangeries,banks supermarket etc only 3km at Plouezec, a pretty village with a great restaurant! A real bonus is to have Paimpol close (8 mins) with its portside cafes and restaurants, headland walks, Latin Quarter, summer festivals,etc! So much to do!
The hamlet has around 9 houses most of which were homes to Fishermen plying the Iceland waters in their search for cod.The Granary is part of the original farm serving the local area.
The people who live here include a teacher and farmer and some Parisien Bretons with second homes.All are very friendly.

Out and About from the Granary and Old Farm The cottages are situated 2/3ks from Pretty Plouezec town with all services. These are also situated only 5 mins drive from lovely beaches and the port at Brehec. Here there are 2 restaurants,lovely level sandy beaches, headland and bay walks on the GR34 (Grande Randonnée).Brehec beach and port can also be reached by the forest footpath and trail below the houses. The first 10 mins is a little on the wildside ie brambly,roots,small fordable stream and possibly muddy. The nest 20 mins is on the forestry road through deep deciduous forest.
St Quay - Portrieux is beautiful and 10 mins with a 2 k coastal trail linking St Quay with older Portrieux. Fab views and a very nice bistro - the Brasserie Victoria.
Paimpolis a real gem and only 8 mins away. Great for people gazing from the cafe/bars or for eating on the port.Also nice hypermarkets and the lovely Latin Quarter with more little restaurants and small shops.This is my favourite place as it has such a good ambiance
Further Afield within 15/20 mins Pontrieux is a delight to visit with its port, grand chateau at La Roche Jagu and the 2 cobbled town squares full of flowers and small eateries, boutiques and inexpensive.
One can take the steam train down to Pontrieux there being a family fare.
The next big visit is again only 5 mins drive from Paimpol - the magical Ile de Brehat.
There are an endless list of lovely places to visit such as Treguir and its medieval cathedral and centre, the wild Pointe du Chateau, the incredible geology of the Pink Granite Coast....
Sport and organised events There is a covered tennis court 2ks away at Plouzec and canoe and kayak schools at Brehec and Paimpol. There is horseriding and cycle hire.
There is the Planetarium at Plemeur Boudou nr Perros Guirec well as the Village Gauloise.
