Unique Property in Noss Mayo, South Devon sleeps up to 10
The Post House is a spacious and comfortable 3 storey family house in the heart of Noss Mayo in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Breathtaking views of the estuary can be had from either the large open plan living/dining room or with a glass of wine on the sunny terrace. Wander below to Popes Quay to enjoy a beer from the nearby Swan Inn and the many river activities (including the Regatta and fireworks in July/August). Walk to the Ship Inn for fine food or at low tide cross the causeway (and get diverted by a spot of crabbing on the way) to the pretty village of Newton Ferrers, the Dolphin Inn and the shops. At high tide, hire a boat and row across! The coastal path is nearby and can be walked with suitable pushchairs. Some lovely beaches (offering rock pooling to surfing) are from 15 to 40 mins drive, whilst Plymouth, the National Marine Aquarium and the historic Barbican are 20 mins drive. Dartmoor, Dartmouth, The Eden Project and Woodlands Theme Park are all easy day trips.

House has been refurbished to a high standard.
Bedrooms 1,2 and 3 are on the middle floor, bedroom 4 is on the ground floor.
linen/maid service: All linen and towels included. Please bring your own beach towels.
The house will be cleaned before and after your stay.
Cot, high chair and stair gate can be provided on request.
Easy storage for bikes on rear terrace.
One/two person kayak available for use (no life jackets or wet suits provided).
Property is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Terrace with table, sun canopy, chairs and BBQ offering outstanding views over the estuary and accessible from the kitchen. Two dedicated parking spaces beside the property, extra parking in the free car park next to the tennis courts (0.25 mile).
It is possible to swim off the quay when the tide is in although wet suits are advisable!
Attractions of the Property The Post House is in a pivotal position within Noss Mayo village overlooking Pope's Quay - the hub of the village's summer activities. Built in the 1920s it is prominent amongst the 18th/19th century fisherman cottages and provides one of the more spacious holiday homes in Noss Mayo with ample living space that takes full advantage of uninterrupted views down the estuary. Moreover given its location, it is unusual in Noss Mayo in enjoying sun all day long and the terrace provides the perfect space to enjoy this maybe with a meal served to you by the Swan Inn. With the Estuary on your doorstep your kids have ample chance to engage with nature away from their screens with hours of pleasure to be had mucking around, on or in the water.
Eating/Dining The Swan Inn is the locals pub and offers the best views especially in the summer when you can take your pint down to Pope's Quay. The Ship Inn provides the best food locally and is a short walk from The Post House. We haven't been to The Dolphin in Newton Ferrers recently but guests report favourably on the food (beware you don't get caught the wrong side of the tide however!)
Guests also have recommended The Old Wheel in Wembury for food - a 40 minute walk from the Post House (across a pedestrian ferry).
For fine dining Tanners in Plymouth is highly recommended perhaps preceded by a cocktail in the Plymouth Gin distillery?
What's On Regatta weeks in Noss Mayo are great fun where you can join in the rivalry between Noss and Newton villages. Events include crabbing and allcomers rowing competitions Key Dates for 2011:

Thank you for a wonderful week.
House is perfect: comfortable, clean, wonderful views and perfect for any age. Coastal path walk is really lovely and doable with a buggy. Ship Inn has great food and we enjoyed drinks at the Swan whilst our son had fun crabbing. Hired a row boat from Phil [Carter] which was lots of fun. Tea Room at the Green [Newton Ferrers] was very enjoyable - delicious coffee, cake and fry up. Hope to come back again and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks again - July 2011

Everything you could possibly want
Lovely house...location couldn't be better the views from the windows are beautiful and forever changing. Great walks and despite some rain managed to get out and about every day. Party of six ranging from 29 to 62 and everyone enjoyed the week... Will be back - June 2011

Great house, excellent location, beautiful views.
Weather allowed us to walk every day apart from one and what superb views there were. Managed to cover Noss, Newton Ferrers, Wembury, Heybrook Bay, Beacon Hill - all spectacular and varied. Food at the Ship was particularly good quality. The Old Wheel at Wembury had just been refurbished & we had a warm welcome & good food...there is good pub grub at The Swan Many thanks - June 2011

This is a lovely house and so well equipped. We have had a brilliant time and would love to come back.
Noss Mayo is beautiful and there is so much to do for such a small place. The Butchers in Newton Ferrers has really good meat and local eggs and the croissants from the Post Office are nice too. We also had lovely food at The Ship!

Stunning weather, views and pasties. We'll be back. Children had never canoed before and were soon able to paddle like Steve Redgrave. Recommend takeaways from The Swan, pasties from Wembury and Newton Ferrer's butchers and the walk to Wembury taking the ferry (he doesn't charge as much as the sign says!). Record crabbing haul: 6.

What a wonderful time we had. The Swan was about as festive as it is possible for a pub to be (bell ringing, chestnuts roasting, home made gingerbread men, mulled wine, pickled herring to celebrate Malkolms heritage and a Christmas quiz in which we made a very poor showing and came last!). The icy setting sparkled like a Christmas card, the churchbells chimed through the village on Christmas morning and the local community were very welcoming.
The Post House was a marvellous base, beds extremely comfortable, and to have a Christmas tree waiting for us was an extra special touch. We will happily recommend the venue.
In the meantime we are looking at the diary to see when we can next book in!
