No two days in Mevagissey need be the same! The working harbour has an unbroken tradition of boat building since 1745 and the fishermen are happy to take visitors out on angling or pleasure trips, or small boats can be hired for self drive. Visit the World of Model Railways Exhbition and Aquarium and Folk Museum. At the end of June Mevagissey celebrates Feast Week to celebrate the pilchard harvest (regretably pichards are no longer caught due to EC quotas) with carnivals, musical performances and dancing in the streets. During the pre-Christmas period Mevagissey has a wonderful display of christmas lights and New Year is celebrated in the Cornish tradition with almost everyone in fancy dress.
The National Trust properties of Lanhydrock and Caerhayes are close, as is the Eden Project, the farmous gardens of Heligan, and the Shipwreck and Heritage centre at Charlestown.
