Family fun For child friendly visits, there are a wealth of attractions. Rand farm in Wragby is great, whatever the weather. Hardys animal farm near Skegness, or natureland in Skegness. The seal sanctuary at Mablethorpe, and of course the beaches themselves. Closer to Louth is Rushmoor country park, hubbards hills is the local beauty spot with a small river children can paddle in and the new meridian leisure centre in Louth is a superb facility. Half an hours drive brings a playtowers, another leisure pool, mini steam train and boating lake at Cleethorpes. For older children, pleaure island is also there. Fantasy island and butlins are in Skegness, and the beautiful city of Lincoln is 40 minutes by car, visit the castle, the cathedral and wonder at the shops and cafes on the aptly named 'Steep Hill'.
Culture There are a wealth of mansions and properties to explore in the area, Gunby Hall, Normandy House, Doddington Hall, Belvoir Castle, Tattershall Castle, Burghley House, Belton House, Lincoln Cathedral and Castle. There are a number of airforce museums, such as the Battle of Britain Memorial flight and Newark air museum. Louth has its own museum, our lake is mentioned as supplying the bricks for the town hall and a copy of the famous Brown's panorama is there to be studied. The story of the Louth flood is told and the tragic deaths of 23 townsfolk.
Sport/Recreation Due to its relative flatness, Lincolnshire is an ideal spot for walking and cycling, there are cycle trails, and a multitude of beautiful walks.
For the more adventurous we have Manby motorplex where you can sample driving experiences, Cadwell park for motor racing, Covenham resevoir for water sports and there are two golf courses in Louth and plenty more a bit further afield.
New for 2010 is the Meridian leisure centre, with a 25m long pool, along with kiddies pool (complete with pirate ship) and flume, gymnasium and health suite, and a very good little cafe, this new centre is bang up to date and at a very reasonable cost.
