The barn is set in an acre of lawns, which includes a big pond full of fish. The property is in a quiet rural setting with views of a fishing lake, forest and the Pyrenees mountains. The local town, Masseube is ten minutes away with supermarket, municipal tennis courts and swimming pool.

The Area The local town, Masseube is ten minutes away with supermarket, municipal tennis courts and swimming pool. A selection of restaurants within a ten minute radius. There is a 9 hole golf course five minutes away and a choice of 18 hole courses from a half to one hour away.
There is a 9 hole course within five minutes of the house, about ten years old, so well established. However very hilly, so you need to be in your health. An 18 hole course is a half hours drive away in Lombez, very well kept with restaurant attached. An hour south has an 18 hole course in Lannemezan, lush and heavily wooded. An hour north is the Auch 18 hole course, well kept with club house facilities.
The ski slopes will be shut during the summer months, however the lifts still operate in some resorts allowing you to walk high in the mountains.
Other Activities There are various white-water rafting centres, depending on how adventurous the kids are. There is an outdoor pursuits centre near Auch, (half hour) which includes horse riding, climbing in harness, slides etc. Lac Gimone is a supervised swimming lake ten minutes away where one can hire sailing dinghies also a motorised paragliding school for the very brave.
Travel Toulouse airport, Blagnac, is one hour away. Pau is 1.5 hours away, Carcassonne and Biarritz are 2.5 hours away. The drive from the northern ports is a long one and should be broken half way down if possible, you can expect a ten to twelve hour trip We recommend fly/drive for the best holiday experience.
Driving time to local villages, St. Blancard 5 mins, Boulogne sur Gesse 10 mins, Masseube 10 mins, Auch (county town) 30 mins, Mirande (country and western festival) 30 mins, Marciac (jazz festival) 40 mins, Toulouse 60 mins. Spain is about an hours drive south, well worth the trip!
