2 large terraces, one of which is totally enclosed and away from the pool area, thus making it very child friendly.The villa is suitable for elderly or infirm as it is all on one level. However, the nearby village of Cómpeta has many hills & steps.
•Please state number & ages in your party when making an enquiry. Discounts for 2 week or more booking may be available at certain times of the year. Gas & electricity are included. Flexibility of rates may apply to smaller parties of 2 or 4 at certain times of the year. A separate security deposit of £200 is also payable on arrival & will be refunded after return of keys and inspection of property. Deductions from the security deposit will only be made in the event of excessive breakages or excessive cleaning.
Our changeover day is normally Saturday, however this may be flexible at certain times of year.

Villa Barbaro Situated on the border of the Sierra Almijara National Park, the villa is very easily reached from the main Torrox to Competa road 200 metres down the well maintained concrete drive. The house is set in 7,600m2. The gardens have pretty paths through a shady pine forest & a variety of olive & fruit trees which lead to a boules pitch. A pretty rock garden overlooks the 7.5m x 3.5m heated pool & surrounding terrace has outdoor shower & brick-built barbecue. The open plan lounge/dining room has air-conditioning plus a wood burner stove. A further large, shady terrace with stunning views is ideal for al fresco dining & has an additional fridge. This also being a safe & separate environment for small children away from the pool. There are 2 twin bedrooms, 1 double bedroom, 1 shower room & 1 bathroom. All bedrooms have fans. The fully equipped kitchen has gas oven, hob, grill, microwave, dishwasher & fridge-freezer. A washing machine is housed in the laundry area at the side of the house.
Surrounding Area 3km from the villa lies the pictureque white village of Cómpeta. Known as the 'pearl of the Axarquia' it is steeped in history dating back to the Moors. Famous for it's wine & honey, Cómpeta also has a wonderful variety of excellent tapas bars & restaurants emanating from the beautiful village square as well as supermarkets, bakery, banks & excellent craft shops. A wonderful base to explore the Axarquia region & surrounding white washed villages. 15 minutes drive away is Torrox pueblo with more eateries in it's orange tree lined square. Torrox Costa has a great expanse of beaches and restaurants. A further 5 minutes drive will take you to the popular, lively resort of Nerja where the mountains meet the sea. A visit to the famous Nerja caves & Balcon de Europa is a must during your stay. Just under 2 hours away is Granada with it's magnificent Alhambra Palace and only 2 and a half hours drive to the Sierra Nevadas. If you want to experience the 'real Spain,' this is the place to be.
Low Season Holidays We offer all year round rental at Villa Barbaro. Cómpeta & the surrounding area is a walkers paradise from October to May. The Almijara & Tejeda National park is an area of outstanding natural beauty and it's right on the doorstep, springtime is an excellent time to be here. Calling all bird watchers (twitchers) we are able to arrange tours with fully experienced guides with 8 years experience of viewing species such as,various types of Eagles, Pelegrine falcons,Black kite and many more birds.Local guided walks or horse riding can be arranged during your stay. Have a relaxing swim in the heated pool, then enjoy an evening in one of Cómpeta's magnificent choice of restaurants. The mild winter is a great time to visit Granada or Cordoba, a much more comfortable temperature for sightseeing. There is an eco-friendly stove for cooler eveings & electric radiators in bedrooms.
