Local activities Céret is a popular but relaxed Catalan town with a colourful history of legends, traditions, music and art. Full of leafy cafes, once frequented by Picasso, it boasts a colourful market on Saturday mornings; an impressive modern art gallery, with works by Picasso, Matisse, Miro, and Chagal; and legends surrounding the 'Pont du Diable' and the fountain in the 'Place de neuf jets'. Céret is famous for early, delicious cherries and is known for its cherry festival, held at the end of May/early June. This is followed by the Feria 'Céret de Toros' in early July in which bulls are run through the streets. A festival celebrating the complex, circular 'Sardane' dance is held mid July. The surrounding countryside is of exceptional beauty, ranging from the 'Pic du Canigou', sacred mountain of the Catalans, down the ancient, forested foothills of the Pyrenees, across the vineyards of Roussillon, to the hidden or hip sandy beaches of the Mediterranean.
Places to visit Glorious walks start from your front door - but further afield, there is easy access to French and Spanish beaches and coves; picturesque villages; castles and monastaries steeped in history; festivals; grottos; a Mecca for artists; world famous prehistoric sites; opera in Perpignan; modern night clubs; and a freshwater lake with a tree canopy walk for kids. Treat yourself to the local wines and delicacies found in superb 'dégustations' and restaurants - and don't forget Spain! El Buli is not too far away for true foodies, about 90 min by car. Ceret is an excellent base for travelling to the medieval cities of Carcassonne, Montpellier, and Perpignan; the Cathar castle towns and the lively Catalan centres of Girona and Barcelona.
Travel Ceret is 15 minutes or 7km downhill, 1.5 hours hiking. The nearest beaches are 40 min. In less than 2 hours drive you can visit Barcelona, the Costa Brava and other parts of Spanish Catalonia. On the French side you can reach Montpellier, Carcassonne, Toulouse in 2 hours or less, Perpignan in 40 minutes and also Collioure, Argeles and Canet Plage in under an hour. Ryanair and EasyJet fly to Perpignan (45 min) and Girona airport (1 hour 15 min away).

Dear Martin and Karen,I just wanted to connect with you after our fabulous stay in Ceret. Thehouse and pool are truly spectacular... You've done an amazing job with theplace. It's just perfect. As I think Clare mentioned when we spoke to you, we had a rather hellish (ifwonderfully scenic) 9-hour drive through the back roads to get to the housefrom Uzes where we had spent our previous week. We arrived at dusk, exhausted, and were thrilled to discover that the house completely exceededour expectations. Somehow the photos on line just don't do it justice...And then there were things that we couldn't have expected, like the kidstoys and games that my 7-year old son in particular was over the moon todiscover.A rain-swept Sunday followed in which we enjoyed lounging in the upstairsliving room and watching the clouds. For the rest of the time we haddifficulty doing anything but relax by the pool! In fact, our only"complaint" about the place was our inability to leave it to do anything inthe area....Thanks again for a magical stay.Best,Tearney

I just wanted to let you know we arrived safely and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The weather has been glorious so far and your home is very beautiful. We have already raided your herb garden and are busy making dinner with the spoils as I type.
Are the insect paintings in your living room by your neighbour Jacques? Do you know where in town I could buy one for myself? Who is the painting in the middle room by? Is it also a local artist?
Kind regards
Tara

We were chatting last night about your wonderful villa, and what a lovely time we had there. We certainly hope to return in the not so distant future.
We wish you all the best, you deserve every success, and we really do feel that your "customer service" goes over and above the call of duty!
Many many thanks

Verified Homeowner
Why is Lupain Holiday Rentals the only holiday rental company to verify the ownership of holiday accommodation? Research has shown that not all advertisers are genuine. There have been cases where people have booked holiday accommodation only to find out it does not exist.
This sort of ‘scam’ is hard to comprehend but these days fraudsters are coming up with ever more imaginative ways of obtaining money by deception from innocent people like you. We do not want holidaymakers who book with us to fall victim to this type of scheme. Money is mostly hard earned we know, so taking a holiday is usually a major expense. In addition, we do not want you to remember us for a shattered dream.
Therefore, in order to protect you we have introduced our Owner Verification Scheme. We ask all holiday home advertisers to submit proof that they own the property they are advertising. Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.
If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
We take this Owner Verification Scheme very seriously for your protection. If you have any doubts about the validity of an advert or misrepresentation please contact us with your concerns.
Please note, Lupain Holiday Rentals does not verify the advertisement content placed on this website by property owners, nor do we offer any guarantee as to the correctness of the advertising information placed on this website by third parties.
