The Locality The house is ideally situated for hiking in the National Park of the Maiella (only 5 minutes away), sunbathing and seaside swimming in the summer (the Adriatic coast is only half an hour away) and skiing in the winter. We can recommend activities and cultural excursions and we are able to organise Italian language courses (we have close connections to the internationally acclaimed ‘Athena’ school in nearby Lanciano). We are more than happy to accommodate specific requests guests may have in mind. We have sourced many ‘artegianale’ producers of local food products of the highest quality, as well as textile and porcelain manufacturers, all traditional to the region. Our olive oil is of the highest quality (hand-picked, cold-pressed, extra- virgin, and single- estate) and is in great demand in London - there is always enough, however, for our guests!
About Abruzzo Abruzzo is one of the most historically fascinating areas of Italy, with much archaeological evidence dating back to pre-roman times. Hilltop settlements are still to be seen in Abruzzo’s many villages and towns, from L’Aquila and Sulmona in the Abruzzan uplands to Guardiagrele, Casoli and Roccascalegna facing the Adriatic sea over the littoral plains. The countryside is stunning in its’ magnificence – set in the National Parks of the Gran Sasso, the Maiella and the Sirente Velino. Here are vast tracts of forest (oak, beech and chestnut) populated with golden eagles, chamois, lynxes, deer and wild boar. To the east, miles of fabulous beaches on the Adriatic, ranging from the sophistication of Pescara to the untamed Vasto peninsula, reminiscent of the wilder reaches of the North Cornish coast. The proximity of the increasingly popular Croatian coastline and archipelago, easily accessible from Ancona, Pescara, Ortona, provides an added attraction, especially for recreational sailors.
Food & Wine Last but not least, is the Abruzzan cuisine is one of the most gastronomically prized in Italy. The huge diversity of excellent ingredients, from the fresh fish of the Adriatic to the air-dried hams and cheeses of the mountains, enable the visitor to enjoy fantastic meals throughout his stay. The wines of the region, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo ( a robust but in many cases sophisticated red), Cerasuolo, the rosè made with the same grape, and the Trebbiano whites preclude any further searching of the wine-list.
Our visitors over the years have left many recommendations for local restaurants and bars to visit.
Why is Lupain Holiday Rentals the only holiday rental company to verify the ownership of holiday accommodation? Research has shown that not all advertisers are genuine. There have been cases where people have booked holiday accommodation only to find out it does not exist.
This sort of ‘scam’ is hard to comprehend but these days fraudsters are coming up with ever more imaginative ways of obtaining money by deception from innocent people like you. We do not want holidaymakers who book with us to fall victim to this type of scheme. Money is mostly hard earned we know, so taking a holiday is usually a major expense. In addition, we do not want you to remember us for a shattered dream.
Therefore, in order to protect you we have introduced our Owner Verification Scheme. We ask all holiday home advertisers to submit proof that they own the property they are advertising. Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.
If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
We take this Owner Verification Scheme very seriously for your protection. If you have any doubts about the validity of an advert or misrepresentation please contact us with your concerns.
Please note, Lupain Holiday Rentals does not verify the advertisement content placed on this website by property owners, nor do we offer any guarantee as to the correctness of the advertising information placed on this website by third parties.
